Features of this two-day sporting event include a 52 mi (83 km) bicycle road race to Silverton, a citizen's tour, children's race events and more. A variety of classes are available to accommodate all levels of experience. For a fee, non-participants have the option of racing bikers to Silverton aboard the Durango-Silverton train. Bikers can also use the train for return service to Durango upon completion of the race.

The Durango Pro Rodeo Series

This annual rodeo series takes place at La Plata County Fairgrounds and features a wide range of rodeo competitions and a full concession with special Western barbeque dinners. The series runs from mid-June to the end of July.
